To troubleshoot cloud gaming with a change log, record the account, game, device, connection, controller, subscription, and save state before changing anything. Test one boundary at a time so an outage, entitlement problem, network problem, and save-transfer problem do not get mixed into one vague symptom.
Capture the session baseline
Record the service, game title, region, device and operating-system version, browser or app version, connection type, controller connection, start time, error text, and official service status. Note whether the problem is failure to launch, lag, image breakup, input delay, disconnection, missing progress, or missing entitlement. These symptoms need different checks.
Preserve the save state before experimenting. PlayStation explains that streamed and downloaded PlayStation Plus games use different save locations and that saved data is not automatically transferred between those modes. Its official steps use online storage to move saved data between streaming and downloaded play. That difference belongs in the log before a user opens an older-looking copy.
Test one boundary at a time
Start with a low-risk check: retry the same game after confirming service status, then compare another supported game on the same device. Next compare the same game on another supported browser or device. Change only one network path if that test is authorized. Record each result with time and error text.
Do not reset an account, unlink a publisher profile, delete a save, or factory-reset a device as an early step. Confirm the active account and subscription first. PlayStation's support page states that cloud streaming availability depends on the service tier and gives minimum connection guidance; Xbox's cloud gaming page lists supported access routes and devices. Use the provider's current page rather than an old forum checklist.
Keep measurements comparable
For lag or visual quality, run the same game scene for the same short period. Record whether the device used wired, Wi-Fi, or mobile data, whether another download was active, and whether the controller was wired or wireless. A speed result alone does not prove the full path is stable, so keep the observed stream result beside the network check.
For a launch or entitlement issue, record the signed-in account, subscription state, game catalog status, region, and whether the title launches locally or on another supported route. For missing progress, stop before creating a new save and compare the provider's documented storage locations.
Close with a tested explanation
A resolved log names the failing boundary and the smallest effective change. Retest the original route, then restore any temporary network or controller setting. If unresolved, give official support the timestamps, game, device, error, service-status result, and controlled comparisons without sharing passwords or recovery codes.
The change log is complete when another person can repeat the exact check and reach the same conclusion. It should end as resolved and retested, service-side and monitored, contained with a workaround, or unresolved with saves and account links preserved.
