Move cloud gaming by preserving access and save data through the provider's supported account flow, then test the exact game on the destination device. Do not assume that a subscription, license, profile, or save can be reassigned to another person. A device move and an ownership change are different projects.

Identify what is actually moving

Write down the provider, account, subscription tier, game, save location, destination device, controller, browser or app, and household user. Mark whether the destination will use the same person and account. If a different person will become responsible, check the provider's current account and family rules before changing credentials or ending a subscription.

Xbox lists supported devices, a compatible controller, a supported region and game, an eligible account or subscription, and adequate connectivity among its cloud-gaming requirements. Its catalog and device availability can change, so verify the destination against the current provider page instead of relying on an old setup note.

Protect progress before switching

Finish a normal in-game save, return to the game's menu, and allow time for synchronization before signing out. Record the last visible checkpoint or timestamp. If the provider exposes cloud-save status, confirm it under the same account that will be used on the new device.

PlayStation documents an important distinction: streamed PlayStation Plus saves are stored on PlayStation and can continue on another device, while saves do not automatically move between streamed and downloaded versions. Its supported workflow uses online storage to move saved data between those game types. Follow the instructions for the specific console and game rather than treating every cloud save the same.

Validate the destination

Install or open the supported app or browser, update the destination device, pair the intended controller, and sign in through the provider's normal interface. Launch one game and verify the correct profile, entitlement, save, controls, audio, and display. Test on the network the player will normally use, not only beside the router.

If the save or game is missing, stop before creating new progress under the wrong profile. Recheck the account, game edition, region, streaming-versus-download mode, and synchronization status. Keep the source device unchanged until the destination has loaded the expected save and completed a fresh test save.

Handle a new owner cautiously

When the phrase new owner means another person, separate transferable equipment from account-bound access. A controller, television, or handheld may be handed over physically; the account, subscription, purchased games, and saves may follow different provider rules. Document which items are confirmed transferable and which remain with the original user.

End with a handoff note listing the provider, destination device, tested game, save checkpoint, controller, network result, subscription review date, and unresolved limits. Only then remove the old device or cancel redundant access. The goal is a verified playable session, not a password handed from one person to another.
