Review store navigation by trying a few realistic tasks: find a product category, locate delivery information, and return to a previously viewed section. Note where the route becomes unclear before redesigning the menu.

Match labels to their destinations

Shopify menus can link to products, collections, and other pages, while theme settings control where menus appear. Inspect both the saved menu and its actual storefront presentation. Menus and links

Open every link in the small area you are reviewing. Does the destination contain what the label promises? Use ordinary customer language and ask the owner to resolve uncertain category boundaries. Do not hide an empty category behind a more attractive label.

Check more than the desktop view

W3C recommends identifiable navigation regions, descriptive labels, and consistent wording and order across screen sizes. Use these as review criteria when checking the theme. Menu Structure

Try the menu on a narrow screen and with a keyboard. Record any item that cannot be reached, understood, or dismissed. Have a developer investigate the behavior rather than treating a successful mouse click as sufficient evidence.

Change one confusing route and retest

For example, if a shopper looking for care instructions must guess between 'Discover' and 'More,' propose a clearer destination label and test it with the owner. Keep a copy of the previous menu structure before changes.

Revisit the original tasks after the edit. Check the homepage, a category page, and a product page so the result is not judged from one template alone. This is a practical navigation review, not a guarantee of conversion improvement or a complete accessibility audit.
